Orange Crowned Warbler

Yesterday O announced he had found a dead bird. Unable to discern what kind of bird it was from his description I had him lead me to where it was.

I had never seen one like it. So I captured a mental image of its identifying points before burial. Then I ran inside and Googled the key words that described it.

It took a little digging but I found it.

It was sad to find it dead, but exciting to find a species I had not seen before.
